The Lark Family Hub, formerly the Lark Children’s Centre at Recreation road, has moved to the newly developed Mildenhall Hub.
The Lark is a full-time family hub which will deliver all the services delivered by the children’s centre and incorporates services delivered at the health centre by the health visiting team.
The new building will provide families with a new space to enjoy inside and a larger outside space. The move also provides the hub with the opportunity to deliver a wider and more proactive service to children from 0-19 and their families.
Most services provided at the children’s centre have now moved across to the hub, but many groups are still being provided virtually due to the covid-19 pandemic. The hub hopes to be able to return to face to face groups soon but will continue to provide virtual groups alongside this.
James Reeder, Cabinet Member for Children’s Services and young people services said:
“I am really pleased to see the Lark Family Hub open within the Mildenhall Hub. This offers a new and exciting chapter in the provision of our children’s community and health services. The hub will allow us to deliver joined up, community based high-quality services to families, providing a complete approach to health, education, and safeguarding. It will also allow us to explore new ways of working collaboratively with our internal and external partners.”
