David worked for Royal Mail for 35 years before taking early retirement in 2012. Retirement has given him the opportunity to devote time to the role of Councillor and representing the residents in our part of Suffolk.
He has served on Haverhill Town Council since 2013 and West Suffolk Council from 2015 to date and Suffolk County Council since 2017.
He has been Haverhill Mayor and served two years in that role.
At County level he has chaired Development &Regulation committee and is vice-chair of the Pensions committee. He sat on the Climate Change committees at both West Suffolk & the County to find ways to reduce our carbon footprint.
David is also West Suffolk Cabinet Member for the new local plan which is shaping West Suffolk up to 2040.
Our part of Suffolk is a vibrant area with great communities. David has been able to support numerous local groups with locality funding. This is a pot of funding that councillors have that can be given to various causes in the community.
He is passionate about our part of Suffolk and ensuring that we are fully engaged at all levels of local government.
