Craig is the County Councillor for Carlton Colville and Pakefield along with Melanie Vigo Di Gallidoro. Craig and Mel were elected in 2017 and worked quickly to resolve the drop-off and parking congestion at Carlton Colville Primary School. This had been a significant problem for parents for many, many years. They secured funding for an increased drop-off collection area which was built in 2020.
Eager to see the flood defences for Aldwyck Way and Velda Close completed as quickly as possible (along with the defences for Lowestoft), Craig is on the Lowestoft Flood Risk Management Board.
Craig is also the County Council’s Deputy Cabinet Member for Children’s Services. He was delighted to see the hard work of the dedicated staff of Children Services be further recognised with the award of Outstanding by Ofsted in 2019.
His additional responsibilities include Deputy Leader of East Suffolk District Council with responsibility for Economic Development, and he has previously been a governor for the Ashley School Academy Trust.
The next two priorities for Craig is to see the construction of a pedestrian/cycle crossing on Beccles Road to Carlton Marshes, and a footpath to improve access to Pakefield High School.
