Debbie McCallum has been a District Councillor for nearly 20 years and is currently Chairman of planning at East Suffolk Council, a position she enjoys.
Debbie grew up in Rushmere and has lived at the Kesgrave Bell with her husband Sam for the past 20 years. She is a mother and grandmother.
Community is important to Debbie, and in her opinion, it is the very basis of a good sustainable and healthy living environment. COVID has bought many challenges and she is so pleased to have been involved in the early Mobilisation of the Kesgrave Support Group, and working with all our street heroes. The Group was recognised for its work, and was awarded the Lord Lieutenant of Suffolk’s Award for this, which now hangs proudly in the Pub.
Meeting head on the issues this Pandemic has brought and will continue to bring has made her realise there is much more work to be done.
