T-J was brought up in Aldeburgh and still lives and works in the town on her diversified farm where she continues to bring up her ever-expanding family. T-J was nominated and shortlisted for a National Local Government Community Award for her work as a Community Councillor and for a Co-Op Person of the Community.
Elected as district councillor 10 years ago, T-J is proud to have driven forward a number of key projects in the area. She was heavily involved with the Leiston and Woodbridge Leisure Centre improvements, providing facilities for more people, young people projects, community enabling budgets and many other local and district wide initiatives.
A major issue in the Aldeburgh and Leiston Division is the concern about the impacts that may be felt by the concentration of energy projects proposed for the area. Throughout her time on Aldeburgh Town Council and as a district councillor, T-J has robustly championed residents’ need to have a voice, and to be listened to.
She is a founder and key member of ‘Leiston Together’, a member of the Committee of the officially rated ‘Good’ Alde Valley Academy, sits on the Alde & Ore Estuary Partnership, Thorpeness Coastal Management Plan and other local projects.
