Lance Stanbury lives near RAF Mildenhall and is a very experienced councillor having served on the former Forest Heath District Council from 2015-19 as Cabinet Member for Planning and Growth. During his term of office, he was responsible for bringing forward the Toggam Solar Farm, and the scheme to place solar panels on the roofs of businesses. Both these schemes make significant financial contributions to fund council services and have also helped make the council carbon neutral. He also championed improving healthier restaurant and takeaway food choices through the Eat Out, Eat Well awards.
Originally from Hertfordshire, Lance was leader of Welwyn Hatfield Council for two years and more recently was Chairman of West Suffolk Conservatives and general election agent to the Rt. Hon. Matt Hancock MP.
Lance said, “I am honoured to be selected to represent the people of Mildenhall, Freckenham, Worlington and Barton Mills. The county council provides many vital services including care and support for adults, children and families, road and transport infrastructure, fire and rescue, countryside protection and libraries. The Conservatives have a proud record on service delivery and keeping council tax down. I will campaign to improve on this excellent legacy.”
