Joanna Spicer has been a County Councillor since 1989 and she has lived and worked in Suffolk for nearly 50 years. She lives in Pakenham with her husband Christopher and has two grown up daughters and three grandchildren.
Joanna has undertaken many different leadership roles in Suffolk including with the Suffolk Police Authority, the Fire and Rescue Service, St John Ambulance and the National Health Service. She was awarded an MBE in 2014 for service to the people of Suffolk.
Locally, Joanna is Area Organiser for the Suffolk Historic Churches Trust annual sponsored bicycle ride and every year she cycles to churches and chapels in the Blackbourn area. She and Christopher enjoy walking, gardening, visiting churches and time with their family and friends.
Joanna Spicer works with residents and parish councils to improve road safety, sort out flooding problems and protecting the environment. Joanna works to manage HGV routes and has secured new dropped kerbs. She campaigns with developers and planners for increasing the network of rights of way. She gives her full support and encouragement to the 8 schools in the Blackbourn area as well as local shops, farmers and businesses.
