Originally from Scotland, Elaine has lived in Suffolk with her family for over twenty-five years.
Elaine comes from a farming family and understands what it is to live in a rural community. After running her own successful farm diversification business, Elaine returned to her roots in communications, working in Suffolk County Council as the Sustainable Transport and Tourism Officer for Dedham Vale AONB, and then more widely within the corporate communications team.
Since leaving the county council in 2016, Elaine has worked with the Member of Parliament for Central Suffolk and North Ipswich, Dr Dan Poulter and working alongside him, Elaine has helped to deliver and champion issues that matter to Suffolk residents.
Elaine is passionate about all that Suffolk has to offer and understands the challenges facing our rural communities. Her priorities are to continue to protect and enhance Suffolk’s special environment for generations to come, to work to protect essential services for the more vulnerable in our communities, and to tackle speeding traffic on our rural roads.
Having worked extensively in local government in Suffolk, Elaine knows how to get things done for the benefit of the communities and she is proud to represent the Carlford division.
In her spare time, Elaine enjoys spending time with her family and dogs discovering more of Suffolk’s countryside.
