Bobby Bennett spent 14 years working as a town and parish clerk gaining a thorough understanding of how local government works at all levels. She feels strongly about empowering local communities and wants to support residents and community groups to realise their ambitions for their communities.
Bobby began her career in the City developing financial skills which she furthered with an accounting qualification. She currently works as Agent and Campaign Manager of West Suffolk Conservatives. She is a governor of a Unity Trust school having served in governor roles at primary and secondary levels over the past 10 years.
Bobby recognises the pressures on the economy during the pandemic, especially the impact on our local traders, shops, cafes and pubs and wants to work with local business to ensure their sustainability. For much of her childhood, Bobby’s parents worked abroad, but the family always retained a base in Suffolk, so she has known the county all her life and values its landscape and history. She is passionate about the environment and enjoys exploring Suffolk’s countryside and coast with her husband and three children.
