Stuart Bird has lived in Suffolk all his life, firstly in Ipswich until aged 28, and in Felixstowe for another 28 years. He is single but has a large extended family in the area. He has worked in a number of occupations, most recently in financial services.
Stuart has always been passionate about politics, and was an active Conservative student at university. Stuart currently serves as Chairman of Felixstowe Peninsula Conservatives, a position he has held since 2017. He has been a Town Councillor and District Councillor since 2011 and County Councillor since 2017. Serving on all 3 Local Authorities gives Stuart an important position to serve and to help people in Felixstowe and Trimley. He is Chairman of Town Council Planning and Environment Committee, and Chairman of District Council Scrutiny Committee.
Stuart believes it is important to represent local residents in the issues that affect them locally. With a track record of getting things done and knowledge of how local government works, he can be a strong voice for Felixstowe and Trimley residents.
Stuart is a keen walker and is interested in reading, particularly history, biographies and of course, politics.
