A teacher for 28 years, Joe Mason has dedicated himself over the years as a public servant,
working with young people to develop their knowledge, skills and aspirations.
He is currently a West Suffolk Councillor and Haverhill Town Councillor for the
Haverhill North Ward. For West Suffolk Council, he sits on the Overview & Scrutiny
Committee, and the Citizens Advice Board of Trustees. For Haverhill Town Council, he is a
member of the Leisure & Community Committee.
Joe is active in supporting the community beyond his role as a Councillor. He is a
member of the Unity Healthcare PPG committee. He is keen to see improved health
facilities and access to services for residents of Haverhill and the surrounding villages.
He is Chairman of the Haverhill Show - Haverhill’s largest fundraising event for local charities
and good causes. He is also Founder of Keep Haverhill Tidy - a very active and successful
litter picking group with nearly 700 members making a real difference in the community and
encouraging a sense of civic pride.
Joe Mason’s other interests include seeing improved transport links with Cambridge and
initiatives that support sustainable development, protect the environment and tackle
climate change.
