Andy is a science graduate and managing director of Lettergold, an engineering company based in Newmarket.
Andy is married to Belinda and they have two daughters.
Andy has been a councillor since 2003, sitting on both the town council and district council, and since 2019, the county council. Andy is currently the portfolio holder for Regulatory Affairs on West Suffolk Council.
Andy was the driving force on the town council to bring the bi-weekly market back to the then High Street. Andy has also championed a PCSO who has been operational since mid-2019.
In a previous portfolio role for leisure and culture, Andy chaired the Project Executive Board (PEB) that delivered the £19m National Horseracing Museum, a world class museum that puts Newmarket on the destination map.
In terms of interests, Andy enjoys eventing and racing. Andy is a keen runner and regularly runs in the Sunday Great Run Local, since it started in April 2018 assisted by his Doberman ‘Romy’.
Andy has been able to interact with the parish councils within his county division and has contributed towards many projects through the locality budget scheme which includes numerous Speed Indicator Devices (SIDS), defibrillators, a skate park, pavement improvements and a Toucan Crossing at Laureate Primary School in Newmarket.
