Deborah has lived in Ipswich for the past twelve years and works part-time supporting homeless teenagers. This has given her insight into the drug problems in Ipswich.
She has five children who have all grown up and obtained degrees. Deborah is very concerned about climate change and how this will affect future generations. As well as being a mother she is also an artist and writer and loves playing bridge. Her community work is based at St Mary’s RC Church and includes raising money and visiting the sick and lonely.
Having spoken to many of her residents over the phone during her recent survey, she has identified some priorities that will be the focus of her attention. Firstly, drugs and drug gangs where Debbie believes the community should work together and educate the young about the traps they risk falling into. Secondly, Deborah would like to see more Police on residential streets and will petition the PCC accordingly. Finally, regarding the environment, Deborah wants to be involved with helping to achieve the Council’s Climate Emergency declaration to achieve carbon neutrality by 2030.
