Robert became a Suffolk County Councillor in the 2017 election having moved from Wickhambrook to Bury St Edmunds in 2000, and has lived in Suffolk for 45 years.
Robert felt being able to offer the residents of Tower Division here in Bury St Edmunds a “one stop shop” to all three Councils, Bury Town Council, West Suffolk Council (where he is a Cabinet Member and Portfolio Holder for Families and Communities), and Suffolk County Council would mean that he could offer a complete service to them. Since the 2017 election Robert has used his experience as a councillor to address many issues of the residents of Tower Division.
This year has been especially difficult with the Covid-19 to deal with, however when “Home But Not Alone” was set up by Suffolk County Council, to help vulnerable and lonely residents, Robert was able to assist the process using his contacts within West Suffolk Council, and Bury Town Council to achieve help and advice to his Tower Division residents.
Robert is keen to support Howard Community Primary School within his division. This School has had a troubled past and now needs all the support to give their children the best start in life.
